Floor stripping and polishing
Restore the shine and durability of your floors with our professional stripping and protection techniques. Serving the Paris region (Île-de-France).
Bringing your commercial floors back to life
Over time, commercial floors lose their shine: layers of polish build up, dirt becomes ingrained and the surface turns dull. Stripping followed by polishing restores the original appearance and extends the life of your floors.
Since 2000, Atlantis has been stripping and polishing floors in residential buildings, offices, shops, healthcare facilities and industrial premises in the Paris region. Our qualified technicians use professional equipment – rotary floor machines, scrubber-dryers, wet and dry vacuums – and products suited to each type of floor covering.
The result: a clean, glossy floor, protected against daily wear and easy to maintain. The polish forms a protective barrier that stops dirt from sticking and makes routine cleaning easier, reducing maintenance costs in the long term.
Our process
A rigorous four-step procedure for a long-lasting result.
Floor assessment
We identify the type of floor (thermoplastic, tiles, marble, natural stone) and its condition to determine the right treatment, and assess how many layers of polish are already on it and how dirty it is.
Deep stripping
Removal of old layers of polish, ingrained dirt and residues, using professional rotary floor machines and scrubber-dryers. The stripper is chosen according to the floor covering to avoid any damage.
Rinsing and neutralising
Thorough rinsing to remove all chemical residue, then pH neutralisation to prepare the floor for its protective coat. This step is essential for the polish to bond properly.
Applying protective polish
Several coats of high-resistance polish are applied for a glossy finish, lasting protection and easier day-to-day maintenance. Drying time is optimised so the area can be back in use quickly.
Types of floor we treat
Each floor covering needs a specific treatment. Our technicians know the right techniques for each material.
Thermoplastic (vinyl, lino)
Vinyl and linoleum floors are the most common in business premises. Stripping removes yellowed layers of polish, and re-polishing restores shine and protection. We use gentle strippers to preserve the floor covering.
Marble and natural stone
Marble and natural stone need delicate treatment. Depending on the condition of the floor, we carry out sanding, crystallisation or buffing. The result is a deep, natural shine that shows off the beauty of the material.
Ceramic and porcelain tiles
Dirt builds up in tile grout and tiles lose their shine over time. Our treatment combines mechanical stripping, grout cleaning and a protective sealer for an even, long-lasting result.
Concrete and industrial resin
Industrial concrete and resin floors are subject to heavy mechanical and chemical stress. We carry out stripping, stain treatment and regular machine cleaning that extends their life.
The transformation process
Before treatment
- Dull floor, yellowed by old layers of polish
- Dirt ingrained in the pores of the surface
- Visible footprints and black scuff marks
- Patchy, unprofessional appearance
After treatment
- Glossy, even floor that looks as good as new
- Surface protected against dirt and wear
- Simpler, less costly day-to-day maintenance
- A more professional image for visitors
Maintenance tips between treatments
Daily damp mopping
Use a damp flat mop to pick up dust and avoid the micro-scratches caused by dry sweeping.
Neutral products
Avoid harsh detergents that attack the layer of polish. Choose pH-neutral cleaners recommended by your technician.
Spray buffing
In high-traffic areas, regular spray buffing (spraying followed by buffing with a rotary floor machine) extends the life of the polish.
Entrance mats
Install good-quality entrance mats to catch most of the dirt from outside before it reaches your protected floors.

Frequently asked questions
How often should a floor be stripped and re-polished?
It depends on the type of floor and the amount of foot traffic. As a rule, a full strip followed by re-polishing is recommended once or twice a year for high-traffic floors (lobbies, corridors, shops), and every 18 to 24 months for floors with moderate traffic (offices, meeting rooms).
How long does the work take?
It depends on the floor area and its condition. As a guide, allow one day for 200 to 400 m². The floor can be used from the following morning, once the layers of polish have dried completely.
Can stripping damage my floor?
No, provided the products and techniques used are suited to your floor covering. That is why the initial assessment is essential. Our technicians are trained to identify the right treatment for each type of floor.
Do you offer an annual maintenance contract?
Yes. We offer maintenance contracts that include one or two strip-and-polish treatments a year, plus spray-buffing visits in between to keep the shine. This option works out cheaper than one-off jobs.
